Update

Some of the recent additions and changes to the Literary Map of Colorado project include:

Map points are now color coded (blue-fiction, green-non-fiction, yellow-juvenile, red-poetry)
Colorado Poet Laureates have been added
Historical non-fiction titles such as those about the Ludlow Massacre
Several current science fiction award winning authors

We are currently looking for a better mapping program that will allow an easier format for printing and distribution. If you have any recommendations, please comment. Thanks! Stay tuned for more entries every day.

Introducing various literary maps

See the new feature page "About Lit Maps" above, for an introduction in various types of literary maps and how they are used. We have added several new maps to the "Other Literary Maps" section that includes a variety of types such as the artist representation of Frisco and a Santa Domingo Literary Map created to educate and promote the literature contributions of this city. Submit your favorites links to literary maps that you like through our comments board.

Ten Authors have been added to the Literary map

So far we have a diverse group of well-loved, prolific authors. They include award-winners, children's to adults, picture books to mysteries. They all warrant a look. Check out the latest map by clicking on MAP on the right side of the blog. If you have someone/some book we need to add, simply add a comment below and include the information. Soon, I will send out a call for collaboration. Thanks for your input!

Introduction

Greetings.

This site will provide a location where librarians and literarians can compile and publish the first comprehensive Literary Map of Colorado. It will include historical and contemporary Colorado authors and works created within the Colorado landscape.

It will include state book festivals, writers workshops, literary conferences, colleges and institutional programs. It will include works of fiction, graphic novels, poetry, plays, including both juvenile and adult.

It will include links to other state and national literary maps.

We've got a lot of work to do, so let's get to it.

Google Map

The Literary Map of Colorado will be posted with markers on our own Google Map. This should make it easier to collaborate with various organizations and people who can input their own markers and descriptions to create what I hope is a very useful tool. Stay tuned.
